Mary Meadows Livingston & Melissa Hubbell

Mary Meadows Livingston, a native of Tupelo, MS, launched Abeona Wealth in October 2020 with the goal of providing empowering and approachable advice, particularly to single women, young professional families, and those nearing or in retirement. She is a CFA Charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner practitioner. In 2022, she was named “Top 40 Under 40” by the Birmingham Business Journal and has been included in the BBJ’s “Who’s Who in Financial Planning and Wealth Management” multiple years.

Mary Meadows is a member of Kiwanis Club of Birmingham and serves on the boards of Down Syndrome Alabama, the Alabama Holocaust Education Center, and Theological Horizons. She received a B.A. in Psychology and a M.T. in Early Childhood Special Education from University of Virginia.

She lives in Highland Park and can be seen taking many walks trying to wear out her dog Rosie.

 

 

Melissa Leigh Lyons Hubbell is a former professional contemporary ballet dancer and aerialist with over 35 years of experience in a diverse range of dance styles and genres, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom, salsa, bachata, and circus arts (acro, aerial silks, lyra).

A native of Birmingham, Melissa’s passion for dance began at the age of three and her mom, Linda, worked tirelessly to afford the best training for her at exceptional institutions, such as The Dance Foundation, Alabama Dance Academy, The Alabama Ballet and Birmingham Dance Theatre. She graduated with honors from Birmingham-Southern College, earning dual degrees in Business Administration and Dance Performance/Education. Dancing forty hours a week on scholarship under the mentorship of Yugoslavian prima ballerina and highly-revered Department Chair for over thirty years, Mira Popovich, Melissa received numerous scholarships, accolades & awards for her exceptional talent and dedication to dance. Most memorable being honored campus-wide as the initial recipient of the “Mira Popovich Scholarship and Award for Excellence in Dance.”

Following her graduation, Melissa embarked on a professional dance career, performing with renowned companies like Arova Contemporary Ballet and The Atlanta Ballet. In 2011, she expanded her artistic repertoire by delving into circus arts, training with Amber Monson (Sky Gym/Liquid Sky ATL), and then in 2015 with Leisha Knight (Cirque de Soleil/Global Movement Project). Captivating audiences as a featured performer at events across the Southeast, including The Maccabi Games, Krewe Ball, Electric Circus, Milk and Honey, The Brown Sugar Nutcracker, and was even invited to perform as a featured aerialist in the World Games Opening Ceremonies in 2022. 

Melissa's commitment to sharing her expertise extends to her teaching career, entering her third year as an instructor at Birmingham Dance Theatre. She is a “Specialist,” providing in-depth training in proper technique and performance quality to dancers of all ages and ability levesl. Mel has been extremely blessed to work closely with her mentor and dear friend, Emily Hand, offering private and group lessons for anything from competition solos to pageants and middle school to college level dance team prep training. Melissa married the love of her life, Mike Hubbell, in 2020 and adores spending time traveling (Iceland), attending live music events, gardening & most of all with their two black cats—Lamby & Lambette.
