Daniel Chaplin is 28 years old and lives in Homewood with his family and dog Bingo. He is the mail clerk at Wiggins, Child, Pantazis, Fisher, and Goldfarb law firm, attends Prince of Peace Church, and is on the Board of Directors of the National Down Syndrome Congress. Outside of work, he loves ballroom dancing, competing in half marathons, bowling with Special Olympics, and advocating for people with Down syndrome. He is very excited about dancing for First Light. He says, "I feel sad for people who don’t have a home, and would like to help them find safety and opportunity to have shelter."
Madelyn Crosby comes from several generations of dancers. She was born in Jasper and has been living in Birmingham the majority of her life. Madelyn has been dancing since she was four years-old, but developed her love for the Latin dances when she lived in Cartagena, Colombia. She has since developed a deep passion, love and respect for Ballroom dancing. Madelyn owns All About the Dance, a Latin and ballroom dance studio located on Highway 280 in Birmingham, Alabama. Madelyn's deep love for dancing and teaching dance is rooted in the joy it brings to people, including her students. Aside from dancing, Madelyn enjoys spending time with her daughters and family, running, and anything outdoors. She also enjoys serving people, giving back to her community and contributing to a great cause, which is why she is honored and excited to be participating in this year's Dancing with the Stars of the Magic City.
